ASA/MMFL Insurance

At the November, 2001 full league meeting, it was unanimously decided the most cost effective way to insure and protect our players, coaches and administrators, was to do it as a league. Subsequently, the league now provides substantial coverage at reduced rates compared to teams or organizations trying to get insurance coverage on their own. Once registered and accepted into the league, individual team members will be submitted for coverage. They will be valid team members as long as they are included in our on-line database. League  coaches must enter their team members. Entry and submission of this form via the Internet will also be used as registration into the ASA and an official MMFL roster. Only those team individuals entered via this method will be covered by insurance, be members of the ASA and rostered with the MMFL.

Changes to your roster, players added or deleted will be recorded accordingly, but, must be done through our web site. Entry dates will be used to verify any individual team membership. These changes can be made anytime according to our League Rules.

Access to maintain your team members will be handled through an exclusive log-in ID and Password from our "Home Page" of the MMFL web site. The Login option is available from the "Bat Rack".

League insurance will be provided through the Bolinger Insurance Agency, in association with the Amatuer Softball Association, nation wide. For specific professional details, you can go directly to the Bollinger Insurance web site. Or, you can also call them at 1-800-526-1379 for information that may not be listed. The MMFL will be purchasing Youth Individual Player type insurance.

Except for the individual registration, the purchase of insurance should all be transparent to teams. We will no longer be dealing with an intermediate ASA Commissioner to handle these transactions for us. The league will be purchasing INDIVIDUAL insurance through the ASA and will be handling any requests for Certificates of Insurance when needed. If your team, as listed on the Teams page of the MMFL website, needs a CERTIFICATE of INSURANCE, please send the league an e-mail stating what you're requesting, your name, team name and age group. The league will then e-mail the necessary certificate as an attachment in PDF format.

Individual league members are covered for an entire year. Players, coaches and score keepers participating in practices, amateur games, and travel will be covered as long as your team is accepted into the MMFL. Coverage runs from January 1 or whenever your individual team members are registered, through December 31 of the current year.

This insurance is secondary type coverage with a $250 deductible. If an unforeseen accident or injury does occur, please contact the League President immediately with an explanation and request for the necessary forms.
